Z-Fold Stacking Unit - ZSU

The Digatron Systems ZSU is an automatic electrode stacking and separator folding machine, designed for the production of Li-ion cells.

Z-Fold Stacking Unit - Digatron Systems

The operator loads anode and cathode electrodes into specially designed trays that position them for pickup, then initiates the automatic cycle. A pick & place system aligns and places the electrodes on the stacking head, where they are held in precise position for accurate stacking. After stacking is complete, the cell is removed, the separator is wound around it and cut to the desired length, and the finished cell is placed in a jig pallet for exit.

The machine also features an automatic tape application system to secure the cell at the end of the stacking process.
