Cell filling and degassing unit - CFDU
The Digatron Systems CFDU is a pouch cell processing machine that integrates electrolyte filling, vacuum sealing, and degassing into a single system. It is designed to ensure precise electrolyte dispensing, effective gas removal, and secure sealing under vacuum conditions, optimizing cell performance and safety
The operator manually loads the cell into the machine and initiates the cycle. During the electrolyte filling phase, the CFDU utilizes vacuum pressure to ensure optimal electrolyte distribution while preventing contamination. Once filled, the cell temporarily vacuum-sealed. After the electrical treatment, the cell undergoes a degassing process, where it is pierced, gases are purged under vacuum, and it is subsequently re-sealed. The entire process is conducted within a vacuum chamber, with an option to integrate inert gas into the procedure for enhanced safety and efficiency. The system includes automatic handling to weigh the cells before and after both filling and degassing, facilitating precise process control.
With its integrated functionality, the CFDU enhances efficiency, accuracy, and reliability in pouch cell manufacturing, making it an essential solution for advanced battery production.
