The Digatron Systems CGW is designed to support the production of cylindrical cells, 18650, 21700, 26650and 46XX formats. It comes equipped to handle one cell size, with additional tooling sets available for other sizes upon request.

Our CGW performs three important steps in making cylindrical cells: welding negative tabs, grooving cans, and welding positive tabs to the cap

Station 1: This station automatically welds negative tabs to the bottom of the cell can with a resistance welding system. It has a carousel that can hold up to 24 cells, making it easy to process and load new batches.

Station 2: This unit automatically carves grooves into the cell can using a fast-spinning mandrel and grooving disc. It can hold up to 24 cells at once, and the groove size can be adjusted for different cell sizes.

Station 3: This station automatically welds positive tabs to the cell cap with a fiber laser system. It holds 2up to 24 cells and lids, and the welding settings can be adjusted for different conditions and cell sizes.
