Integrated Cell Stacking Tab Welding and Pouch Sealing Unit - ISWS
The Digatron Systems ISWS automates the pouch cell manufacturing process by stacking electrodes, welding tabs, and sealing the cells in pouches, all while making sure production runs smoothly without any operator intervention.
It has three stations, each with a different function, and the move from one station to the next happens automatically.
Cell Stacking (Station 1):
The operator manually loads anode and cathode magazines. The machine automatically aligns and stacks the electrodes with a separator, then secures the completed stack with tape.
Tab Welding (Station 2):
Tabs are trimmed, fed, and ultrasonically welded on both positive and negative sides. Protective polyimide tape is applied, and the finished cell is inserted into a blister pouch.
Pouch Sealing (Station 3):
The cell is placed into a pre-formed pouch and heat-sealed on three sides, leaving one side open for gas filling. An automatic cell handling system connects each station for seamless, operator-free production.
