Tab Welding Unit - TWU
The Digatron Systems TWU is an automatic machine designed for tab trimming and ultrasonic welding of Li-ion cells
The machine includes one tab trimming station and two independent ultrasonic welding stations for welding positive and negative tabs.
The machine comes equipped with an automatic cell handling shuttle and two automatic tab feeding systems, each with a buffer magazine for tabs.
The operator places the cell into a workpiece carrier attached to the automatic shuttle system and initiates the trimming and welding cycle, which is fully automatic.
The workpiece carrier holding the cell is transferred automatically to the trimming and ultrasonic welding stations.
The tab feeding system, connected to the tab magazine, supplies the tabs directly to the welding spots. Once the cycle is complete, the workpiece carrier returns to the starting position.
